Vivian Peng

Lead Data ScientistInnovation, The Rockefeller Foundation

Vivian Peng has been a Lead Data Scientist for The Rockefeller Foundation’s Innovation team since 2021 where she specializes in applied machine learning. Her leading work includes projects with the World Health Organization combating health misinformation and establishing one of the first survey panels with National Opinion Research Center around food insecurity in the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities.

In her previous work with Doctors Without Borders, Vivian advocated for improved access to medicines and during the Covid-19 pandemic, she developed crucial data tools for the City of Los Angeles and its public health response. Vivian is passionate about using data and design to address social and political barriers to health.

Vivian earned her BA in molecular cell biology from UC Berkeley and an MPH from Columbia University.
