Project: “Fleeing Across Borders: International developments in responses to battered mothers and their children in child abduction cases”


Jeffrey L. Edleson is one of the world’s leading authorities on children exposed to domestic violence. He has published over 120 articles and 12 books on domestic violence, group work, and program evaluation, and is the co-author of a best-practices guide. In March 2022, he visited Bellagio to develop new ideas for policy, legislation, and practice aimed at providing better safety to battered mothers and their children who flee violence across international borders. Edleson is a Distinguished Professor of the Graduate School, as well as the Harry & Riva Specht Chair Emeritus in Publicly Supported Social Services, in the School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley.
