Project: “America’s Qur’an: A History of the Qur’an in America”
Jane McAuliffe is an expert on Islam and the Qur’an. She held positions as inaugural Director of National and International Outreach at the Library of Congress, President of Bryn Mawr College, Dean of Arts and Sciences at Georgetown University, past president of the American Academy of Religion, and Professor at the University of Toronto and at Emory University. She attended Bellagio in April 2022 to continue work on “America’s Qur’an,” a book tracing the history of Islam’s sacred text from its earliest mentions in American writing until today.
