Project: “Reinventing global governance for AI”
Gillian Hadfield is a global authority on law and technology. Hadfield came to Bellagio in September 2022 to produce a roadmap to guide policy researchers and governments on how to develop effective AI governance on a global scale. The project drew on lessons she learned from participating in global AI governance initiatives over the past five years, and new approaches to legal infrastructure needed in order to adapt to the transformations of technology and globalization. Hadfield is Professor of Law and Strategic Management at the University of Toronto, and inaugural Director of the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society.
