Project: “Turning the tables in the struggle for affordable medical innovation and access”
Els Torreele has worked for over two decades at the interface of pharmaceutical R&D, global health, access to medicine as a human right, and public policy development around medical innovation for access. She has authored over 50 international publications and regularly contributes to the societal debate through media and social media. Torreele came to Bellagio in March 2022 to work on new avenues for transformative change towards equitable medical innovation and access through medical, economic, and financial analysis and activism. She is a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP) at University College London.
