Project: “Malaria Transitions: From the Global to the Local”
Conrad Keating is a widely published author who spent more than a decade as writer-in-residence at the Wellcome Unit for the History of Medicine at the University of Oxford. Some of his most notable publications include the biography of the British epidemiologist Sir Richard Doll, Smoking Kills: The Revolutionary Life of Richard Doll’ (2009); Great Medical Discoveries: An Oxford Story; and Tore Godal and The Evolution of Global Health (2023). Conrad visited Bellagio in May 2023 to work on his research project exploring drug trials in the treatment of severe malaria in Africa and Asia. He is currently a visiting professor and writer-in-residence at the Trinity College Dublin School of Medicine.
