The investments cities make in transportation and infrastructure not only shape how people get around, but how effectively communities can respond and transform in the face of disaster. Yet, nearly $60 trillion is needed to build and update infrastructure globally to sustain population rates. In the United States, there isn’t enough attention focused on getting a return on our transportation investments or even maintaining the infrastructure we already have – both of which connect people to jobs and opportunity. The Rockefeller Foundation’s transportation and infrastructure work aims to help communities to make better investments in affordable, resilient and inclusive solutions.
