As Managing Director for Innovation, Doris oversees both the team’s operations and influence, and the data science portfolio of funded partners and in-house practice. The data science portfolio leverages AI, statistics, and machine learning to bring forward innovative solutions to advance The Rockefeller Foundation’s mission to promote the well-being of humanity throughout the world.
Prior to joining The Rockefeller Foundation, Doris has worked across many different industries from supporting non-profit organizations in a technical capacity to working on national committees to develop harmonized testing standards for consumer products, with a focus on infant and child safety. She has also worked in research and data science, leading teams to create data products to classify medical records and uncover patterns of consumer risk in social media.
Doris holds a BS and PhD from Boston University with a focus on modeling quantum phenomena in chemical matter. She completed her post-doctoral research work at the Free University of Brussels’ Condensed Matter Statistical Physics Unit and at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Molecular Modeling.
