Project: “Resourcing multi generational women’s leadership in Africa”
Theo Sowa is a leading feminist and social justice activist advising on the rights of women and children, social justice, and policy development for a range of national and international organizations. She visited Bellagio in May 2023 to develop a program for more sustainable and joyous leadership transitions centered on feminist values for feminist and civil society organizations. Theo is currently Co-Chair of the Equality Fund, member of the African Advisory Board of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, Patron of Evidence for Development, and board member of multiple other organizations. She is also the former CEO of the African Women’s Development Fund, which she led through a period of increased reach, impact and influence globally.
