Project: “Cognitive Dissonance”


Sebastian Currier is an award-winning composer whose music has been performed by acclaimed artists and orchestras at major venues worldwide. A former Columbia University professor, he has received the Grawemeyer Award, the Rome Prize, Berlin Prize, Guggenheim Fellowship, multiple awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and an Artist in Residence at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ. Currier came to Bellagio in April 2022 to work on a piece titled, “Cognitive Dissonance,” which highlights the complex, precarious, and possibly incompatible relationship between human society and the natural world.
