Project: “No Nation For Muslim Women”
Sabika Abbas is a translator, as well as a performance poet, feminist activist, and alternative educator whose work revolves around feminist and anti-fascist organizing. She visited Bellagio in March 2023 to create a series of performance poems highlighting both the struggle that Muslim women in India face as the minority of the minority, as well as their dreams, movements, and self-representation. She has previously worked with Change.org and Fearless Collective. She is currently the Lead Organizer (Global) at Noor, Chief Editor of the South Asian Avant-Garde (SAAG) Anthology, Co-Editor of the Bystander Anthology, and Founder of Sar-e-Rahguzar: Poetry on the Streets.
