Project: “Shiva’s Trident: Global Myths and the Future of Democratic Capitalism in India”
Rajiv Lall is an expert in public policy and finance with more than 40 years of experience straddling academia, multilateral institutions, government, and private financial institutions in the U.S, Africa, ASEAN, China, and India. He came to Bellagio in October 2023 to write a book about the crisis of democratic capitalism and the rise of populism, uncovering fresh insight into the strengths and weaknesses of India’s emerging model of market-state-society interaction under Modi’s leadership. Rajiv is currently Professorial Research Fellow at Singapore Management University where he also serves on the Management Committee of the Singapore Green Finance Centre. Rajiv is also co-founder of Artha Global an emerging public policy think with a presence in London and Mumbai.
