Project: “Reviewing analytical frameworks to capture the regionally specific impacts of a changing climate”


Luke Harrington is a climate scientist recently named in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia. Harrington came to Bellagio in September 2022 to review different methods to quantify how the impacts of worsening extreme weather can be specifically attributed to climate change. He was a lead author on a 2021 OECD report discussing climate-related losses and damages, and he also contributed to a recent complaint filed with the International Criminal Court that examined the impact of deforestation-related carbon emissions in Brazil. He is a Senior Lecturer in Climate Change at the University of Waikato, New Zealand.
