Bellagio Residency: May 2023

Project: “Cities, Communities, Care”

Gabriella Gómez-Mont is the founder and CEO of Experimentalista, a novel type of nomadic and creative office specialized in cities – that constantly shifts shape to accommodate high-level, transdisciplinary collaborations across the world. She has received international recognitions for her work in different fields, including Best Art Practice Award given by the Italian government, the TED City 2.0 Prize, and was also named one of the 100 most creative people in business by Fast Company magazine. Nowadays, Gabriella is a Visiting Professor of Practice and Senior Policy Fellow at UCL’s Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose. While in Bellagio in May of 2023, she spent time researching and writing about the intersection between care and spatial justice – most notably exemplified by Bogota’s “Care Blocks” project, which she has been an advisor for. Inspired by Bogotá, she is exploring – along with the Mayor’s team – a crucial question: how can we reimagine a whole city around care?
