Project: “An Inclusive Economic Rights Agenda to Combat White Supremacy and Build a Moral Political Economy”


Darrick Hamilton is an economist and public intellectual. Hamilton came to Bellagio in July 2022 to work on a conceptual framework that links inclusive economic rights as the basis for building a more moral economy. His work has inspired legislative proposals at the federal, state, and local levels. In 2020, he was appointed as a member of the economic committee of the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force. Hamilton is a university professor, the Henry Cohen Professor of Economics and Urban Policy, and the founding director of the Institute on Race, Power and Political Economy at The New School.
