Project: “My Name Is Iris”
Brando Skyhorse is an award-winning writer whose debut novel, “The Madonnas of Echo Park,” received the 2011 PEN/Hemingway Award and the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction. His second book, “Take This Man: A Memoir,” was named among the Best Nonfiction Books of the year by Kirkus Reviews. He came to Bellagio in March 2022 to work on his new novel about a Mexican-American woman who discovers a wall growing outside her new home. That book, “My Name Is Iris,” will be published August 1, 2023 from Avid Reader Press/Simon & Schuster.
