The Bellagio Center Convening Program/

Gender Equality Convenings

The Gender Equality theme is targeted towards applicants who are dedicated to advancing gender equality and women’s leadership through initiatives, policy making, public advocacy and more.

Examples of what this might entail, include:

  • Academics advancing research and scholarship on women’s economic justice and rights, gender studies, women’s leadership, etc.
  • Advocacy and policy groups aligning and disseminating messages about the impact and urgency of gender equality through the medium of their work
  • Leaders who aim to build coalitions, governance frameworks, launch new organizations, catalyze new investment mechanisms and more, which will enable action addressing this pressing issue
  • Practitioners, who are working ‘on the ground’ and on the frontlines of this issue in communities globally, and whose work necessitates an environment for deep thinking on approaches and avenues to impact

We welcome a diverse range of profiles for applicants in this theme. However, all Gender Equality applications will be required to address the theme in a direct and deliberate way.

How To Apply

The Rockefeller Foundation is actively seeking to increase the diversity of its programs and is especially interested in supporting convening organizers who are based outside of the U.S., who are citizens of low and middle-income countries and/or who represent low and middle-income countries through their cultural backgrounds and worldviews.

Applicants hoping to convene in 2023 should apply before June 6th, 2022. We will make decisions roughly 6 months in advance of the dates indicated on your application.
