During a recent visit to Petauke District in Eastern Zambia, teams from The Rockefeller Foundation, SEforALL, Engie, the Rural Electrification Agency of Zambia (REA), and other important stakeholders, saw firsthand how access to electricity is transforming lives. Petauke stands as a powerful example of what’s possible when energy is used as a key driver of development.
Through mini-grids like Kanyanga and continued reform, Zambia is demonstrating how national commitment and local innovation can translate into real, measurable impact. The progress unfolding there shows that large-scale electrification is not only achievable but already changing lives — from powering livelihoods to strengthening local economies and building resilience for the future.
We’d love your help amplifying this work by sharing the video of Zeferino Tembo, who talks about how electricity access has improved his life and livelihood.
