Roy Steiner, PhD, serves as the Senior Vice President for the Food Initiative at The Rockefeller Foundation. He leads efforts to expand access to nutritious food and foster scientific advances in dietary quality and regenerative food systems. Previously, Roy directed the Intellectual Capital team at the Omidyar Network and helped establish the Agricultural Development program at the Gates Foundation. Additionally, he was a founder of Cyberplex Africa and Africa Online, advancing internet access and digital innovation across the continent. Roy holds a PhD and MS in agricultural and biological engineering from Cornell University, and dual bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and biology from MIT.
