Govind Iyer joined The Rockefeller Foundation board of trustees in June 2025.
Govind is an Independent Director on the board of Infosys Limited, one of the world’s leading next-generation digital services companies. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Karmayogi Bharat, an initiative by the Government of India to develop a digital platform that helps civil service officials build their professional capacity. In addition, Govind is a senior advisor at Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm.
Since 2012, Govind has been a Founding Board Member and Chairperson at Social Ventures Partners (India), a pan-India collaborative organization that provides individuals with a platform to engage in philanthropy and create meaningful impact through their contributions. He is also a Member of the Board of Social Venture Partners International.
Beyond his philanthropic leadership at Social Ventures Partners, Govind serves on the advisory board of The Convergence Foundation, a grant-making incubator devoted to system reform and sustainable social impact. He is also on the boards of Project Mumbai and the Indian Corporate Volunteering Association, and is a LivingmyPromise signatory, part of a community of Indians who have pledged to give back 50% of their net worth by supporting philanthropic causes.
Govind retired as a Partner at Egon Zehnder International, a global leadership advisory firm, where he advised family businesses and corporations on CEO succession and board governance. Earlier in his career, Govind held executive roles at Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, and Heinz.
Govind lives in Mumbai, India. He has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA.
