Chun Lai is the Chief Investment Officer of The Rockefeller Foundation, where he oversees the management of the Foundation’s $6 billion endowment.
Since joining the Foundation in 1996, Chun has held a range of investment roles across multiple asset classes, including overseeing research and asset allocation. Prior to his appointment as CIO, he served as Deputy CIO for nine years. Chun began his investment career at the State of Connecticut Retirement Funds, where he worked from 1992 to 1996. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and an MBA in finance from the University of Connecticut. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and serves on the Investment Committee of the William Penn Foundation.
