For more than six decades, the Bellagio Center Convening Program has been a magnet for global leaders, changemakers, and pioneers who want to collaborate and address the world’s most significant challenges. Solutions, coalitions, and initiatives born at Bellagio Center convenings have gone on to help feed billions of people, spark more than $1.6 trillion in social impact investments, vaccinate more than a billion children, and bring clean energy to people in every corner of the globe.
Every year, the Bellagio Center Convening Program hosts approximately 60 five-day convenings designed to strengthen solutions, build partnerships, and mobilize resources, that improve humanity’s well-being.
Our 2024 convenings took on pressing issues such as biodiversity and nature conservation, innovative finance for development, global health, climate change’s impacts on people, and more. Those gatherings developed new solutions to major global challenges, such as Baraka Impact Finance and the Bay Area Global Health Alliance increasing the flow of private capital to close health equity gaps or Planet Labs developing data-driven tools to track and scale the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework. Leaders like the Igarape Institute mobilized partnerships and resources to fight illegal deforestation and support livelihoods in the Amazon and united the efforts of universities working towards solutions at the intersection of climate and health. And organizations like the National Resources Governance Institute shaped policy agendas in order to drive an equitable transition to green energy, while BRAC is ensuring local communities have the power and resources to deal with climate change.
Situated on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como, the Bellagio Center provides a beautiful and thoughtful setting where groups can come together to foster strong, lasting relationships, spark collaboration, engage in meaningful dialogue, and develop transformative solutions.
Leaders from around the world come to the Bellagio Center to drive bold transformative change, not just host meetings. When they do so, they become part of the Bellagio Center’s proud history of transformative change, one that has launched initiatives — such as Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, the Global Impact Investing Network, the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet GEAPP), and the CGIAR — that have improved lives and futures throughout the world.
