Statement by Elizabeth Yee, Executive Vice President of The Rockefeller Foundation, on Amref Tragedy

We were heartbroken to learn of the tragic plane crash in Nairobi that claimed six lives, including those of doctors and nurses from the charity Amref Flying Doctors en route to a medical evacuation mission.

For many years, The Rockefeller Foundation has been a proud supporter of the charity’s parent organization, Amref Health Africa, in its mission to improve health access across the continent. These dedicated medical professionals, advocates, and humanitarians represent the best of what humanity has to offer and are a continuing inspiration to us all.

All of us at The Rockefeller Foundation send our deepest condolences to the friends, families, and colleagues of those who lost their lives.
