Annet Namayanja

Meet Annet, a plant breeder at the National Crops Resources Research Institute (NaCRRI), harnessing the healing power of nutraceutical crops to improve health in Uganda.

Her Big Bet: A future where black beans and mung beans are integrated into nutrition programs, school feeding initiatives, and food policies — offering a cost-effective, food-based strategy to reduce noncommunicable diseases and anemia in Uganda, across Africa, and beyond.
