AIDS is #Solvable

Malcolm Gladwell talks to David Baltimore about his work that made a treatment for HIV/AIDS possible.

David Baltimore was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 1975 for research in virology, which provided the key to understanding the life cycle of retroviruses such as HIV. He has influenced national science policy on issues like recombinant DNA research and the AIDS epidemic. Baltimore served as the President of the California Institute of Technology for nine years, and after was appointed President Emeritus and the Robert Andrews Millikan Professor of Biology in 2006.
