Yigal Kerszenbaum

Former Associate Director

Yigal Kerszenbaum joined The Rockefeller Foundation in 2013. Yigal brought five years of experience with socially responsible, double and triple bottom line venture capital and private equity investing in the US and the Emerging Markets. As an Associate, he helped manage the Foundation’s Program Related Investments (PRI) portfolio and worked on the Innovative Finance initiative, which seeks to catalyze an efficient industry that can deploy investment capital in an effort to address social challenges at scale.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Yigal served as a Private Equity Investment Associate covering Latin American for Developing World Markets (DWM), a US-based Impact Investment firm that primarily invests in inclusive financial institutions (IFINs), including microfinance institutions (MFIs), small and medium enterprise (SME) lenders, affordable housing and education lenders, and mobile banking service providers. Previously, Yigal worked as an MBA Associate at 57 Stars, an independent asset manager focused on investing in primary and secondary private equity partnerships and co-investments in select markets primarily in emerging markets.

Yigal started his career as an entrepreneur, founding a language school in Cordoba, Argentina.

Yigal received his MBA from Georgetown University and his BA in Economics and Finance from University of California, San Diego where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa Honors. He is Fluent in Spanish, and conversant Hebrew and Portuguese.
