Susanna Battin

Co-Director, North Mountain Residency

Susanna Battin is an artist and co-director at North Mountain residency. In her art practice she uses various forms of media, which include video, writing, curation, and installation. She is interested in the normative narratives we have about nature and landscape, and how these shape our understanding of the American West. Valuing process over product, she lets research guide her projects, and interrupt and inspire her methods. She has presented her work domestically and abroad in many modalities and venues. Susanna has worked to develop the programming and goals of North Mountain since 2014. She graduated with her masters in photography and media from Calarts in 2015.
