Sarah Krauss joined the Rockefeller Foundation in 2015. As Associate Director, Sarah worked to implement innovative engagement approaches that catalyze collaboration and connection among staff, grantees and partners to achieve the greatest possible impact. With a dual focus on employee and grantee engagement, Sarah created and delivered tools and best practices in communicating with employees in a global organization to elevate productivity, performance and pride and develops grantee communications strategies and approaches to enhance the grantee experience.
Before joining The Rockefeller Foundation, Sarah was Chief of Staff at the NYC Department of Small Business Services, an economic development agency. In this role, she helped launch Women Entrepreneurs NYC (WE NYC), a catalytic effort to expand the economic potential of women entrepreneurs, with a focus on the needs of underserved women and families. Previously, she was the Communications Director for the New York City Public Advocate. Prior to her time in city government, Sarah was a Senior Account Executive in the Public Affairs practice at Edelman, a global public relations firm. Sarah got her start in government and communications working as Deputy Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Charles Schumer.
Sarah received a B.A. in American Studies from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and completed the Senior Executives in State and Local Government program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
