Jo-Ann Tan

Director, +Acumen

Jo-Ann Tan is the creator and Director of +Acumen, the World’s School for Social Change. She is passionate about improving access to the cutting-edge tools, leadership skills and community needed to create effective social change. +Acumen’s free and low-cost online courses have reached more than 350,000 individuals in 192 countries. Our best course participants go on to launch new social start-ups and revamp their organizations; some even dramatically alter their career paths so that they can contribute in more meaningful ways.

Prior to Acumen, Jo-Ann built a marketing analytics team and developed and new marketing strategies for a $1 billion apparel distributor. Jo-Ann has also worked at strategy consulting firm Marakon Associates in New York and Singapore. She began her career at the Monetary Authority (Central Bank) of Singapore. Jo-Ann received a BA in Economics and an MS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.
