Anya is a Senior Associate at the Center for Effective Global Action, a hub for research on global development headquartered at the University of California, Berkeley. In that role, she supports projects that deliver humanitarian aid in Togo, Ghana, and Pakistan, and “connects the dots” between policymakers, researchers, and the media to effectively translate research findings. Anya is also a researcher conducting original fieldwork in Kenya to understand the relationship between childcare and profits for female-owned businesses. In addition to her work at CEGA, she writes a Substack newsletter on effective philanthropy called Giving to Strangers. She holds a BA in Economics with Honors from the University of Chicago.
