About UsTeam Myung J. Lee

Myung J. Lee is Executive Director of Cities of Service, a national nonprofit organization that works with city leaders to tap the knowledge, creativity, and service of citizens to solve public problems together. Cities of Service represents a growing, nonpartisan coalition of more than 225 cities in the U.S. and UK.

Myung previously served as a Deputy Commissioner with the City of New York Administration for Children’s Services, where she was responsible for one of the nation’s largest publicly funded early care and education systems, serving more than 100,000 children. She has extensive nonprofit management experience leading overall operations and strategy for organizations focused on homeless assistance, domestic violence, and early childhood development programs in the tri-state region. Myung was a program officer and associate general counsel at the Corporation for National and Community Service, where she managed multi-million dollar grant programs and helped to launch AmeriCorps. Upon receipt of her juris doctorate from Georgetown Law, she was an advocate and counsel for incarcerated women.

Myung’s private-sector experience spans development, sales, and human resources. In addition to her J.D., she holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Myung is originally from New York City, and resides in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter.
