The event will celebrate the partnership and $20B climate finance project platform connected to the MOU, which details specific areas and mechanisms of collaboration. Areas of focus include combating climate change in sub-Saharan Africa through the accelerated deployment of distributed renewable energy and bringing the share of electricity generated by renewables to at least 50% by 2030; ending energy poverty and advancing SDG7 by 2030; and strengthening the enabling environment for clean energy through policy reform that prepares power markets for high renewable penetration.
The session will be broadcast live across the Foundation’s social media pages (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube) on Saturday, November 6, 2021 @ 10:30 am ET / 02:30 pm GMT.
