Local Transportation to Bellagio:

INFORMATION FOR RESIDENTS: Travel arrangements from Milan to Bellagio are arranged by the resident. The residents’ coordinator may be consulted for suggestions on the most convenient method of transportation via car service or local taxis.

INFORMATION FOR CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS: Bellagio is about two hours from Milan; we highly recommend allowing the Bellagio Center to organize transport from Milan to Bellagio, rather than asking participants to make their own way there by public or private transport. During registration, conference participants are required to decide how they wish to travel to Bellagio.

The Bellagio Center meeting coordinator will arrange transportation to Bellagio and will attempt to group participants into vehicle transport depending on arrival times to minimize the total number of trips.

Non-Grant Funded Meetings: As part of the conference package, the Foundation will provide some funds to help offset the cost from the city of Milan or from local airports/train stations to Bellagio (time and location to be decided according to needs) that can accommodate all participants. The conference organizer will be responsible for paying for any extra transportation costs outside of what the Foundation will provide. Your meeting coordinator will provide you with more details while planning your conference.

Meetings Funded by Grants from The Rockefeller Foundation: Local ground transportation costs from the city of Milan or from local airports/train stations to Bellagio should be budgeted within the grant, and conference organizers will be responsible for paying all transportation costs. Your meeting coordinator will provide you with more details while planning your conference.

Any participants not taking advantage of the aforementioned transportation will have to inform the meeting coordinator of their approximate arrival time at the Bellagio Center using the travel form on the online registration site. Please inform the meeting coordinator if you are planning to arrive on time for lunch (served at 13.00/1 p.m.) or on time for dinner (served at 19.30/7:30 p.m.).

Participants may choose to drive in their own car, take a cab at the airport, book a car service, or make use of public transportation (limited during low season i.e. winter), but in any case they should be aware that the Foundation will not cover this expense.
