Vice President – Policy, Partnerships & Communications (PPC)

The Vice President – PPC role intersects with all of the Foundation’s key initiatives and functions, providing a vision and a strategy that will integrate policy, networks and all forms of, communications and influence. They will advise the President and senior leaders across the organization to leverage external opportunities for the Foundation’s key initiatives. Their peers will include the Chief Operating Officer, Programmatic leadership, the General Counsel and the Chief of Staff. These peers will collaborate with the Vice President on strategic policy and influence priorities for Foundation leadership, including the President. The Vice President will build and lead a team responsible for directly engaging external partners, stakeholders and audiences through strategic partnerships, media relations, government relations and community involvement. In addition to providing executive level vision and strategy for the Foundation’s integrated communications strategies, the Vice President will have oversight for the development and implementation of the Foundation’s grant funded strategic opportunities portfolio.

Responsibilities will include: Communications and Marketing: They will create and communicate the Foundation’s core narrative and brand through all external communications. The Vice President will overseeing all executive communications, including speech writing, and media relations. They will manage the Foundation’s social media platforms, oversee the development of the Foundation’s social and digital media content. The VP will also act as a lead spokesperson, for the Foundation with key media. Program Influence: Developing an integrated campaign-like influence strategy to support the goals of the Foundation’s key programs. Policy: Building on the Foundation’s deep history of work in domestic and global policy issues, a refreshed policy operation will amplify and support the goals of initiative and innovation teams. Bellagio Center & Foundation Fellows: Working with the Foundation’s COO, oversee the programmatic elements of the unique Bellagio Center, the 50-acre property located in Lake Como, Italy. They will oversee the Foundation’s Fellows, including the identification and recruitment. Strategic Partnerships & Opportunities: They will be part of building and managing relationships with the Foundation’s top strategic partners at private, public and philanthropic organizations. Asia and Africa Regions: They will provide oversight to the directors of the Foundation’s regional offices, currently in Thailand and Kenya, with a particular emphasis on strategic and representational goals. This role is based in New York, NY, and reports to Dr. Rajiv Shah, President of the Rockefeller Foundation.
