The Managing Director, Data Technology will play a central role in advancing the Foundation’s new innovation agenda. They will be directly responsible for establishing the vision, strategic priorities and objectives for data, analytics, and associated technology for the Foundation. They will also champion the use of data insights and technologies to enrich data driven decision-making and key organizational initiatives. Most importantly, this leader will think creatively about ways to leverage data technology to support its fundamental mission of promoting the well-being of humanity across the world.
Their additional responsibilities will include: Leading an internal, cross-functional strategy process and guiding its implementation helping the organization manage data as an asset and improving data-driven decision-making, including improving how Rockefeller collects, uses, manages, and publishes data. The Managing Director, Data Tech will design and lead the processes, and working groups necessary to implement all of the above and they will ensure that programmatic work is designed to better capture data and use it across teams, grantees, and other partners in service of initiative goals. These will include capabilities for large scale integration of the data sets listed above, including data-intensive analysis and advanced machine learning applications (including, but not limited to deep learning, natural language processing, data-mining, and other advanced computational analytics). They will closely collaborate with leaders across the organization and with grantees/partners to define and assess performance, drive actionable insights, and proactively enable decision-making through data and analytics. They will define, develop, and implement advanced data and analytic processes, methods and tools for consistency and standardization throughout the entire organization and across programs and grantees. The Managing Director, Data Technology will be based in New York City and report to the Vice President, Innovation.
