Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN)

 

Lead organization: Founded in 1913, The Rockefeller Foundation supports work around the world to expand opportunities for poor or vulnerable people and to help ensure that globalization’s benefits are more widely shared (http://www.rockefellerfoundation.org).

An Advisory Group of international experts provides guidance to the Rockefeller Foundation on what project success might look like and how best to achieve it.

Institute for Social Environmental Transition: (ISET)

is the lead facilitation partner who works with country level partners to support project cities through a shared learning dialogue process that will identify resilience-building activities; facilitate the development of replicable processes, methodologies and strategies for adapting to climate change in urban settings, and supporting cities to develop proposals and disseminate results from their analyses in ways that inform climate adaptation at local, national and global levels and position the cities to obtain major funding from diverse donors.

Arup International Development, Project Consultant and Technical Assistance

consulting on the coordination the initiative on behalf of The Rockefeller Foundation and providing technical assistance to project partners. Arup is a global consultancy with over 10,000 consultants including planners, scientists, economists and engineers working in 37 countries

provides leadership in identifying, connecting and aligning with potential funding sources at country, regional and global levels; leveraging opportunities for donor funding of ACCCRN projects; and building linkages between ACCCRN, practitioners and donors on resilience priorities to support the objectives of the initiative.

ICLEI, Local Governments for Sustainability

provides leadership in bringing city-level work to the national and global levels, by helping cities to build a business case for the local governments. ICLEI is also assisting the country partners in Indonesia in city-level engagement processes. ICLEI is an international association of more than 1000 local, national and regional local government organizations that have made a commitment to sustainable development.

Challenge to Change

works with communities in Viet Nam ACCCRN cities to conduct community based climate change vulnerability assessments and develop community–based initiatives to build resilience to climate change. It is a nonprofit organization supporting poor communities in Asia to build more resilient livelihoods and to adapt to the impact of climate change.

National Institute for Science and Technology Policy and Strategy Studies (NISTPASS)

is leading national level policy engagement in support of implementing local climate resilience plans in Vietnam. It is a research organization under the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) that executes policy -relevant research on issues of organizational and management matters of science and technology.
