The Essential Ingredients to Universal Health Coverage

In Ten (Plus One) Things to Think About When Planning and Implementing Universal Health Coverage, Robert and I highlighted several points on the necessary pre-conditions for universal health coverage (UHC), the challenges that many regions often face, and how networks like the Joint Learning Network—supported by The Rockefeller Foundation—can help country-level progress towards UHC. The Joint Learning Network, for example, supports countries on how we can more systemically improve both the quality of and access to primary health care, because without a good primary health care system, UHC is impossible to achieve.
