Managing Director, Grants Management and Associate General Counsel
Pamela Foster joined the Rockefeller Foundation in 2003. As Managing Director, Grants Management, and Associate General Counsel, Ms. Foster oversees an international team responsible for the administration and management of grants, Foundation-administered projects, program-related investments and program contracts. She also administers the Foundation’s matching gifts program, and conducts the legal and tax compliance review of all grants.
Ms. Foster is in her second stint at the Foundation, having started her career here shortly after college, initially as a program assistant and later as a senior grants administration staff member. During this time, she earned a law degree at night, and eventually left the Foundation to spend several years working as a lawyer for Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where she specialized in employee benefits and executive compensation. Ms. Foster returned to the Foundation in 2003 as assistant corporate secretary.
Ms. Foster received a bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and a JD, summa cum laude, from New York Law School. She is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
